This morning I 'listened' to stories of the Holy Spirit
that people felt uncomfortable with (to put it mildly)....

Numbers 11:16-17, 24-30 talks about the 70 elders that assembled
and God took of the Spirit on Moses and put it on them
- somehow 2 stayed in the camp and were prophesying
and a young man ran to Moses and asked him to STOP THEM!

Stephen in Acts 7:48-53 reminds the council that
God does not live in hand made temples....
and that they always resist the Holy Spirit
and Kill those who are indwelt by Him....

This being inhabited by God....
upset those who aren't....

What's with that?...

and on the 'other side'
sometimes it seems like a
competition of who has more of the Holy Spirit...

What's with that?

Wow,
Lots of thoughts swirling through my head
memories of youth experiences
and risking for God to touch me
and God doing it....

and now I am one of 'them' who some are uncomfortable around....

Hmmm....

An interesting journey
For me it is has been
Not so much outward signs
but much more understanding
that God has promised Him - Holy Spirit
To those who ask.
To those who wait.
To those who trust that He will do it.

And I have

And I Rest in that....

Thank You Lord,
Your Spirit is in me
and establishes peace and joy
even in the midst of what sometimes looks
'awkward' or 'strange'

and Yes,
You often call me out of my
'comfort zone'
to listen and obey...

and there in that place
I find
Joy and Peace
and a realization
this is what I am 'made for'
- to Partner with You, my Creator
in Your amazing plans
for this world
and my life.

Yeah :)
