....Therefore ...get the 'Before'.

Yesterday Barry spoke
and made mention that the 'Therefores' in scripture
so often refer to the previous statements of the
promises of God made to us...
That the 'therefore' is our response
to these....
- response to the revelation of how
Big,
Good,
Holy,
Loving our Creator God is.
and this morning I read a 'therefore'
Romans 12:1 Therefore,
I urge you, brothers,
in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God
—this is your spiritual act of worship.
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is
—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Transformed by the renewing of my mind
- But I am reminded that I need to go back
to what was the revelation that 'sets up'
the 'therefore'....
Rom 11:22-32 ....Paul speaks of God's plan to save those outside Israel
and that God's plans include the revelation that all are disobedient
and this is the starting place for coming to Him
He concludes with God's glory....
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth
of the riches
of the wisdom
and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 "Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counsellor?"
35 "Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay him?"
36 For from him
and through him
and to him
are all things.
To him be the glory for ever! Amen.
O Lord God
my view of You is so small
Seeing You through the 'knothole' of my experience
and Yet You call me to
Ask for more revelation...
Who I am
and Who You are
That I might experience Your Glory
That living out Transformation
would not be
frustrated striving
but
Normal powerful assured walking
as a Son of God most High.
Redeemed
Raised up by Your personal entrance
into my life...
Blessed be Your Name
Blessed be You, Lord God most High.
