This morning I was interested in how blame gets shifted....
- an enemy came against Samaria and besieged it
- the desperation from the famine caused some to resort to cannibalism
- God had told them numerous times that their lifestyle of sin and idolatry
would result in a removal of the protective covering he had given them....
In other words God's judgement on Sin would result in hardship...

and
God got blamed for it.
and
God's messenger got blamed for it...
and somehow the whole paradigm of
Consequences for Sin
got forgotten. Read about it in 2Kings 6:24-33

This week I was talking to someone about
the wages of sin being death
and that those who do not choose Jesus
will not end up in Heaven
but in Hell.
and
the immediate response was,
"That's not fair."

When I asked why it wasn't fair
when God had supplied the means for any person to be rescued.

The young fellow replied,
"Well, what if a bear were to kill me in my sleep..... I would go to hell."
(....God's fault)

I explained to him he had the chance (and choice)
to ask Jesus into his life right then....
....before he went to sleep....
and that none of us have the guarantee
that we will be alive by morning
- God's provision was available for that moment....

and was that fair.....?

there was a somber quietness...
and a quiet "Yes, I guess so..."

I had to leave shortly after that conversation
but I pray for that young man
that he would 'own' his journey
and choose well.

Lord Jesus,
You remind me
that Sin brings blindness
to the Cause of consequences
......My Choices.

my self nature shifting blame
onto someone else...
....even You.

I choose to listen to You
and see my choices
and their consequences.

Thank You for providing
me with the amazing
possibility
of being
rescued.

again.

Today.

Yeah.
