I am beginning the journey of the book of Joshua.
The first real 'leader' of the nation,
Moses,
is dead.
and his 'helper', secretary, apprentice....
Joshua
is stepping up to the 'plate'....

Wonder what that felt like...?
Then God had a few words with him
before he even started....
- Be strong
- Be courageous
- Don't be terrified
- Don't get discouraged.
For I (God) am with you. Joshua 1

I think God said that about 4x
just to get the point got across...

I might have asked;
"Why do I have to be so strong
and courageous....
What about this job could be terrifying?" :P

Yeah......
Joshua didn't say that...
He probably knew from his time with Moses
That courage would be the order of the day.
and
Fighting discouragement came with leadership...

And God calls me to lead
to step out
to be courageous
to lean on Him in times of discouragement
He told Joshua;
"I will never leave or forsake you" 1:5

And He tells me....
Heb 13:5b .....God has said,
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
6 So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?"

Lord, the thought of leading 2 million + people
is actually quite terrifying
And Yet You reminded Joshua
He had You....
Everything he needed....

and I have
You.
everything I need.

Thank You.

Today I choose
Strength
and
Courage
In You

Yes.
