Good day, Black Creek Church Family,

This week began official fall/winter for me.  Longjohns!
Yes, I am sure that some aren't bothered by the cool mornings, but I think I have acclimated too much to the warm coastal weather.
Today I was reading in the Psalms.
The word 'Thanksgiving' popped up (again).
In the Psalm God declares that He isn't moved by 'religious practices'
but He is moved by thanks that is a sacrifice.
So I asked, What about this thanksgiving posture captures in my Lord's attention?
In the Psalm, God says that even wicked people recite His laws and speak of His covenant...
But it makes no change to their way of living.
But He says Thankfulness is different....
A thankful heart has a posture of humility towards the one being thanked.
A thankful heart acknowledges someone else is in control
A thankful heart elevates, trusts, and submits to the one being thanked
 This Saturday, October 17th is Barb McGinn's memorial at the church at 1:30.

 Thanks for praying for families as they got together last week.  God is on the move!
A sacrifice of Thanksgiving.
Trusting God when it isn't easy or doesn't seem to make sense...
 Psalm 50:14  Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
and perform your vows to the Most High,
15  and call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.
16    But to the wicked God says:
What right have you to recite my statutes
or take my covenant on your lips?
17  For you hate discipline,
and you cast my words behind you.
23  The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who orders his way rightly
I will show the salvation of God!
As you step into the day, give thanks
As you finish the day, give thanks
and the rest of the time?
Give thanks,
Peter Jackson
