This morning I was interested what Paul says about
Godly Sorrow
and 'worldly' sorrow.
the first leads to change
the other leads to death.
See 2Cor 7:8-11

The word he uses is repentance
which literally means to 'turn my thinking around'

Repentance is often thought of as 'being sorry'
which may be an appropriate emotional response
but is actually only one piece in a change in 'thinking'

Godly sorrow raises the 'alarm' that something needs to be differant
and if it doesn't change
death will result which is...
...worldly sorrow

O Lord,
What do I need to change?
What is it that brings death if I don't?

When I feel sorrow,
Help me know if it is from You
or from so many
other dynamics outside and inside me. :P

Teach me this tool for Godly living
that I might apply it
and have the blessing of teaching others.
That they would live too.
by Your instruction.
and choosing to
change.

Thank You.
