Praise the Lord.

The other day I heard someone who claims they don't believe in God say, "Hallelujah!" (Hebrew for Praise the Lord) when a project worked out well.
And I thought to myself, "Has it become just another saying like 'have a good day' ?"
Nice thoughts, good feelings....   Hmmm.

I have been listening to the Psalms.  I have noticed that particularly the last six or so are focused on Praising God.  Declaring all things that do, or should Praise Him.
Creator, Sustainer, He who is Good, The one who gives life
From angels and heavenly hosts, to sun, moon and stars, to the fish in the depths, to the trees in the forest and orchards....  Psalm 148

Someone asked me what I do to maintain equilibrium in these times.
My reply was that I am careful what I feed my brain and my heart.
I am careful how much news I listen to. (What I choose to NOT to feed on)
I am careful to listen to or read scripture. (What I choose TO feed on)

But I forgot to mention that I sing and worship God.....
Because since we haven't been meeting at our church building, I haven't been doing that much.....
and I have noticed that I am missing that piece
that brings joy, settledness, peace, right perspective, communion, repentance, forgiveness
and a sense of awe and thankfulness.

Father,
Thank You for reminding me that to Praise You
Brings life and joy and stability to my 'bones'.
Your Word is a light to my path and to Praise You brings brightness to my heart.
Praise You oh God.
Hallelujah.
Yes, Praise the Lord.
