This morning I was struck again
how much David trusted God.....
No matter what.

...Yes God gave promises to him....

You can read them in 2 Samuel 7:8-16

and God fulfilled that.

But there were so many times
that things didn't seem to go the way
the promises 'promised'....  :P

After....
David raped the woman Bathsheba
killed her husband...
......things when poorly.

very poorly..... :(

David's son raped one of David's daughters
The daughter's brother killed that son
and went into exile

The exiled son came back to Jerusalem
and organized a coup over David and the Kingdom...

and in the middle of that....
as David and all those on 'his side' were escaping from Jerusalem
David commanded the priests to take the ark;
- the box that bore the presence of God
- the Power of God that preserved the nation of Israel
- the 'whoever has it wins' box
....back into Jerusalem.....

2 Samuel 15:25 Then the king said to Zadok (the priest),
"Take the ark of God back into the city.
If I find favour in the LORD’s eyes,
he will bring me back
and let me see it
and his dwelling-place again.
26 But if he says,
I am not pleased with you,’
then I am ready;
let him do to me
whatever seems good to him."

Before the Kingship - running from Saul...
In the Kingship - needing wisdom...
In what seems like the demise of the Kingship - trusting God....
EVEN
if God didn't 'guarantee' to make everything 'OK'.....

Lord,
Thank You for reminding me
that I can trust You
EVEN
if You don't do things the way I think
they should go....
Even if it turns out 'poorly' for me
You are still
God
and
You are still
Good

I trust You
with my life..
.....no matter what happens.

Yes Lord.
