This morning I was struck at the singularity of purpose
of the person who wrote Psalm 119
176 verses about how important it is to
follow God's precepts
God's principles for life
God's laws.

The author never seems to repeat himself.
He just keeps pouring out words about
how Good it is
to walk within the 'lines' God's law defines.

Then I read 1 John 3:21
"Dear friends,
if our hearts do not condemn us,
we have confidence before God
22 and receive from him anything we ask,
because we obey his commands
and do what pleases him.
23 And this is his command:
to believe in the name of his Son,
Jesus Christ,
and to
love one another as he commanded us.
24 Those who obey his commands live in him,
and he in them.
And this is how we know that he lives in us:
We know it by the Spirit he gave us."

Wow.
Psalm 119,
Probably written about 500 years
before John's letter....
Same Message
Same God
Same precepts
But now His words and principles
instead of being 'fences' to guide me
actually become
Internal
Part of me.
...Him (not just his commands)
living in Me.

Lord Jesus.
Your ways.
...so beyond me
yet,
in me.
by Your Spirit.

I listen for Your
whispered Word
inside,
today.

Yeah.
