Heart Attitude....
This will probably the last post for a while as I will be at Camp Bob for a bit.
This morning I was a bit distracted as I read scripture...
Hmmm...
Last night in our men's group we talked about
the disciplines in life
things
that we do intentionally
to build truth and life
into our souls...
We even read the scripture about one of the top of the list items...
2 Tim 3:16,17 - All scripture is God breathed and useful for.....
But another passage was read
about a man who tithed
and fasted
and prayed...
and went away NOT justified....
While a man who only prayed went away right with God....
ref Lk 18:10-14
This morning David reminded me
in the midst of his pain and distress....
Ps 69:30 "I will praise God’s name in song
and glorify him with thanksgiving.
31 This will please the LORD
more than an ox,
more than a bull with its horns and hoofs."
Ox or bull
Sacrifices to God....
THINGS to DO
right things....
But the attitude of my heart
is the 'deal' maker
or
breaker....
Lord, I pray for more appetite
to hear from You in scripture
but I am reminded
that I so easily think that
the reading of much scripture
makes me closer to You....
I can even become proud in my heart...
Lord I come to You
to hear from You
to thank You
to honour You with my words
and actions
and thoughts.
You are great
I need You...
my King
and
my God
Blessed be Your Name.
