While I was laying in bed this morning
I was thinking about what I would read in Judges today......
The horrendous story of the Levite and his concubine in Judges 19
That event was followed by a war of Judgement and the near annihilation of the tribe of Benjamin. read about that in Judges 20, 21

Hmm....

The writer of Judges inserted a phrase before and after those events....
'In those days Israel had no king and everyone did as they saw fit.'  Jud 17:6, 21:25

Yesterday I saw a graphic that categorized news services into 'left' or 'right' etc
(*I am not sure of sources or bias)
BUT
I found it interesting that within an area in the graphic the author stated....

'don't hang out here too long...'

In other words, where I 'hang out',
what I fill my head with,
what I am inundated with
CHANGES
- my perception
- my values
- my actions....

and I was reminded;
Don't hang out in places
that mix truth with 'grey'.....

....Everyone did what was right in their own eyes....

And now more than ever
there is an agenda
to get me 'on side'
with someone's way of thinking....

So
What IS right?....

I need to CHOOSE
and allow that
to permeate my mind and heart

Ps 119 is an amazing as it points to the place to find
True 'North'
or
Plumb
or
Definative Truth.

Listen with me...
1 <ALEPH> Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the LORD!
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart,
3 who also do no wrong,
but walk in his ways!
4 You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!
6 Then I shall not be put to shame,
having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules.
8 I will keep your statutes;
do not utterly forsake me!

9 <BETH> How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.
12 Blessed are you, O LORD;
teach me your statutes!
13 With my lips I declare
all the rules of your mouth.
14 In the way of your testimonies I delight
as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on your precepts
and fix my eyes on your ways.
16 I will delight in your statutes;
I will not forget your word.

Lord Jesus,
How can I keep my way pure
in a world that loves to propose
'ways of grey'
where Black and White in your word
are changed to Mush?

Lord, as I read Your Word
Establish
Truth
and Discernment
in my heart.

I Choose You
I choose to spend time with You
Fill me up
with
Truth
and
Love
and
Joy.

True Fruit of Your Kingdom.

Thank You Lord
Jesus.
