This week I have had some interesting discussions with folks about trauma.
What might be called 'Religious Trauma'.
Impact and wounding by persons in positions of trust and care.  Leaders who represented, in some way, relationship with God.  Men and women who used power and manipulation to control those in their spiritual care.
How has that has played out for some?
- Mistrust of all religious leaders
- Mistrust of anyone in leadership
- Mistrust of God
- Work arounds of how to do 'Faith' without connections to the wider 'church' (organized religion).
I wonder: how can healing happen for hearts so hurt and guarded?
How can faith in God and fellowship with His children grow in soil where trust and vulnerability have been violated?
Jesus faced similar challenges as he connected to people in His daily interactions.
From the woman at the well, to going to the Pharisees' house for supper where a woman washed his feet with her hair and tears, to speaking out against the practices of the priests that created rules that hindered people from coming to His Heavenly Father.
Hearing someone's story is such an invitation to love and care and pray for Holy Spirit revelation of the Father's love for them. 
Jesus' call and instruction.... 
His is the 'solution'.
And often we are His messengers..
 Matthew 11:25    At that time Jesus declared,  I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
26  yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
27  All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Prayers for searching souls to reach out and know Jesus' touch.
Answers to prayers for healing of heartache and hurts to be redeemed in the Father's faithful care
Blessings as you step into your day
simplified by the presence of Jesus
in our messy world.
