This morning I thought I would look a bit more
into the scripture about the
'unforgivable sin'!
Mk 3:28  I tell you the truth,
all the sins and blasphemies of men
will be forgiven them.
29  But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
will never be forgiven;
he is guilty of an eternal sin."
30  He said this because they were saying,
"He has an evil spirit."
Wow.
I remember reading this as a kid
and wondering.....
'Did I do this... is it too late for me?....   Aaaaaah :(  '
Later on people told me,
"If you are worried about it, you probably haven't done it...."
Hmm...  the word 'probably' in that sentence didn't exactly
give me great comfort.... :P
So Have I?...
Hmm....   Interesting Jesus only brings this up once.
With all the 'sinners' he dealt with - this never came up....
The context was:
Judement of the Leaders evaluating
This man Jesus.... who
every step, every word, every thought
was in 'synch' with the Spirit of God.....
They were commissioned
to bring people to God
- they were the Priesthood.....
and
When they RECOGNIZED His Messiahship attributes
But didn't like way it was 'packaged'
CHOSE to intentionally lead the people of God astray
by
Maligning the one who made Jesus One with the Father
the Spirit.
Jesus said that attitude
that misrepresentation
that crossed the line....
So... did I?
Am I.... going to Hell
or heaven....?
Heaven.
No doubts....
BUT
It reminds me to walk
Carefully
around what is purported to be
acts of the Spirit
in People's lives
I am super careful to give all kinds of
grace and latitude
when something happens
that 'doesn't fit' with my 'ideas' of how
I think the Spirit SHOULD do something....
Lord Jesus,
You spoke in Black and White terms
around those who Maligned
the Spirit of Your Father
This one You call
Counselor
Teacher
Protector
this one who connected You to the Father
intimately...
this one who gives me 'Your mind'
Thank You for sending Him to me
to strengthen
to teach me Holiness
to instruct me how to live
the moments of today.
Thank You
I value Him more
today.
His Holiness
is
Irrefutable.
Yeah.
