This morning I was listening to Scripture
and the statement;
'The law only has authority over a man
as long as he is alive...' Romans 7:1

In other words
when I am dead
the law has no more authority over me.
Hmm...
Paul uses the example of marriage
a covenant until death.
After death.
There is No covenant.... Rom 7:2-3

I was thinking about that.
Why IS THAT?
Who made up that rule?

Took me right back to Genesis...

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
When you eat of it....
in that day you will die....

So that question again....
Why?
- Just because God said so....?

Hmm...
Adam and Eve were 'plugged into' LIFE...
God
Creator
the one who not only started their life
but sustained it.

and when they chose the tree
they chose to 'unplug' from life
and 'plug into' self....
Be Like God...
Without God (life)
see Gen 2:16-17, 3:1-6

So it wasn't a 'Rule' God made up
it was a logical consequence of 'unplugging' from life
and 'plugging into'.... self.

Ooops.

No wonder Paul said
The wages of Sin = death Rom 6:23
The cost of being 'plugged in' to Self
is living out of my own resources
Death cannot be put off. I don't have LIFE within me.

BUT
If I could DIE
The sin would be looked after....
Hmmm...
Ooops.... then I would be dead.... :(
Unless...
someone died in my stead....

Oh the depth of the riches
of the wisdom and knowledge of You O God! Rom 11:33

O Lord
You are amazing
when all is lost....
Check Mate...
no option...
Death must result.
You play your Trump Card...
You paid the price
You released me
to be plugged back in.
by choosing
trusting
...Faith in You.
Yeah.
