Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
The last few weeks I have been 'relearning' some 'old' things.
Things that I have learned, been taught, practiced in the past, but haven't been doing for a while.
Wow, it is a stretch to get the brain engaged to relearn.  It almost feels like learning the first time!
On the other side of that, it feels good to step in and up to flying, working on different machines, and exercising - body and mind.
This week I had a conversation with a friend about what has challenged me to change.
What has made me who I am now.
What a great question!
As I reflect, I realize that the times I have grown to be a person more like Jesus are in the STRESS zones.
Like..... being taken advantage of.
Trying to be nice to people who don't operate on the same principles as me.
What does forgiveness look like in that zone?
What do healthy boundaries look like there?
I think I am a better 'me' now.
THROUGH the crisis, stress, challenges.
My Example - Jesus.
My Counsellor - the Holy Spirit
My Comfort and Hope - the Father
One day at a time, leaning in, learning, finding humility and listening to be fruitful.
 This month, lots is restarting.

Pray for those in your circle who are facing difficult circumstances.
Pray for them to be more aware of Jesus' presence in the challenge.
Maybe spend some time with them just listening!
In Psalm 3 David is running for his life from his son.
Wow.
There must have been lots of crazy thoughts running through his mind!
Many people close to David switched 'horses', wrote him off.  Time for a new King.....
And David leaned into the Lord,
and walked forward
He found strength and hope in the God who cares
Especially in the mess.....
Psalm 3:2  many are saying of my soul,
there is no salvation for him in God. [Selah] (Pause to reflect on this)
3  But you, O LORD, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4    I cried aloud to the LORD,
and he answered me from his holy hill. [Selah] (Pause to reflect on this)
5  I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.
Step into the challenge and know that change towards our example of Jesus is GOOD.
Look to the Lord. He has such good plans for you.
Ask Him to teach you.
Sow into the fruit He wants for you.
Blessings on your week,
Peter Jackson
