Good day Black Creek Church Family,
This week I forgot something.....
In a helicopter.
A tool in a place that wasn't obvious or easy to notice.
Almost hidden.
And someone else found it. Before damage resulted.

and then I had time to reflect on what happened...
and what could have happened...
Here are some of my thoughts;
- Humility - I don't remember everything, and I need team.
- Awareness - What I do and don't do matters - sometimes a LOT.
- Thankfulness - 'Near misses' are high-risk events and catching them before High Consequences is something I thank God for.
and here is one I pondered:
- Redemption - How could my failure make space for a positive outcome?
No one except the other person knew what happened.....
Redemption almost always means:
Owning it, which includes Revealing it.
Keeping it to myself - pretty much a Zero outcome - not particularly redeeming
I talked to my supervisor and told him about what happened.
I suggested doing an evaluation of the event to turn it into a learning experience, and include ways to help mitigate future risk.
He told me to "go for it", but commented to be careful... this will be vulnerable for me.....
And about halfway through the process, a thought caught me off guard...
I suddenly felt VERY vulnerable.
Why am I doing this?
I suddenly felt the risk of how it might change others' view of me.
I stopped
and wondered what to do....
Continue?
Back out?
Minimize the 'damage'?
I think Holy Spirit put a strategic question in my mind
As God's priest, building an altar, "What posture do I need to have?... Protect self, or intentionally build Heaven's values into my workplace culture?"
I had immediate peace about the risks and vulnerability.
Being God's Priest, and building an altar for Jesus in my workplace.
A Win that sometimes costs.
Survey #2 on
How we have CHANGED has been out for a week now. If you haven't seen it yet...
Check it out HERE!

Pray for your neighbours. Invite them for tea. Listen to their story. God is inviting them into your circle.

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For we do not know what to pray for as we ought,
but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to his purpose.
31 What then shall we say to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Be wise. Risk in His covering,
Be not afraid,
Blessings on your week,
Peter Jackson
