Good day sojourners in this foreign land.

This week I read the parable of the unjust steward.
It is a story that has always been a bit confusing to me.
It seems like Jesus might somehow condone theft or even fraud,
And I know that can't be...
Check it out in Luke 16:1-13

As I study the parable and look at the context I realize it is a challenge to reframe the economics that influence relationships in this physical world.
The lesson is not about a man ripping off his boss, but a man choosing long term gain by modifying relationships over a short-term resolution of just walking away from a bad end. Even his boss recognized the shrewdness of it... even though it was 'sketchy'.
Jesus makes the point that it is possible to use physical resources (money) to influence people for eternal Heavenly fruit (salvation).

If I can use the resources from this Seen Kingdom to influence someone to be welcomed into the Unseen Kingdom...  that is strategic genius.
Using money that will quite soon be worthless... to influence people in a way that would invite them into eternal life with our Father.  Wow.

The parable lines up even more when I realize that I am a steward of God's resources here on earth, and He would like nothing more than for me to use His money to influence people.
I have to think about that.
Is that actually happening?

Don't Forget this Sunday is Father's Day.
Church Family Picnic after the service at the Black Creek Community Hall - Hotdogs, chips, beverages, ice cream, and watermelon supplied.
Bring finger food if you like.
Probably bring a baseball glove and a bat if you have one.
I suspect there will be a game.

Continue to Pray and ask for God to bring 'Heaven' to those who face difficult circumstances today. He loves an invitation into out circle of care and community.

Luke 16:9  And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

The friends you make here, who receive Jesus, will greet you when you get to Heaven.
That's an amazing promise.

Blessings on your week,
