The other day I was chatting with a friend about
the Law.
Old Covenant
That there was no provision for
Intentional sin.
Choosing to defy God's standards
Resulted in
Sending them away,
cutting them off
removing them from the community.  ref Num 15:29-31
Whoa!
How does that work for a 2 year old!?
How does that work for a 16 year old....
How does that work for anyone
who is having a bad day, frustrated, upset, angry....
Intentional Sin.
Hmmm...
Just 'Googled' a Q&A on this
One submitter's comments was
'no one ever really chooses to sin...'
What!
Are you kidding....
Where does this person live?
Have they ever gone to public school?
Attended a courtroom
Hung out in a bar...
Yet.... God made no provision
in the Law....
Old Covenant......
But this morning I read....
Acts 13:38  So let it be clearly known
and understood by you, brethren,
that through this Man (Jesus)
forgiveness and removal of sins
is now proclaimed to you;
39  And that through Him
everyone who believes
<who acknowledges Jesus as his Savior
and devotes himself to Him>
is absolved (cleared and freed)
from every charge
from which he could not be justified
and freed
by the Law of Moses
and given right standing with God.
Wow.
No wonder this is called
Gospel (Good news)
Lord,
I live in a time and culture
where Your forgiveness
is so much a 'given'.
Where Sin isn't seen as
a big deal....
And Yet.... I realize that
if there were no sacrifice
if there was no way to get back to You
I would be
Lost.
Without Hope
Disconnected from my
Creator
The One who has
Life.....
Thank You Lord Jesus
for making a way.
For covering
ALL my sins
for inviting me into
Full relationship with You
and Your family.
The People of God.
all I can say is...
Thank You,
PJ
