Armour up!.... or is it already on....?

This morning I was thinking through  
the Armour of the spirit
Paul lists in Eph 6 10-18  

- Belt of Truth   
- Breastplate of Righteousness   
- Shoes of the Gospel   
- Shield of Faith   
- Helmet of Salvation   
- Sword of the Spirit       

As I was thinking about them 
I realized that  
Jesus is the armour  
He IS my Truth   
 He IS my Righteousness   
  He Is my Joy and Story   
   He IS my Shield and the one I put my faith in   
    He IS my Salvation who guards my mind   
     He IS The Spirit, The Word, my Defender   

So
'Putting on' the Armour is actually
'Putting on' Jesus....

      Spending Time with Him
     Reading about Him
    Listening to Him
   Obeying Him
   Resting in Him
  Trusting in Him
 Talking to Him
Talking about Him

Not trying to be more truthful
or righteous
or have more faith or 'sword drills'.....
Those are all 'ME' activities...

but I realized
putting on the armour
is
making Jesus
my place of abiding.

When Jesus 'faced off' the devil in the desert
He didn't have a 'workout' drill
He didn't 'put on' the armour

He had it on....
It was rest in the Father
and what the Father gave Him
in the moment...
Words from the Father...
That was enough. ref Matt 4:1-13

Lord Jesus
I didn't realize 
the 'list'
was actually
You!
Thank You
that as I choose
Your Lordship
You are
all I need.

In fact I just realized
that in the spirit realm
You are all I have....

and that is
more than enough!
