This morning I was thinking about Jesus' words...
how he defines honour.
- A messenger who delivers the 'goods'
with the honour going to the one who sent them....
- This messenger speaks the truth (the message from the originator)
- They have no personal agenda
- They deliver what they are given

John 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself,
so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.
27 And he has given him authority
to judge because he is the Son of Man.
28 "Do not be amazed at this,
for a time is coming
when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
29 and come out
—those who have done good will rise to live,
and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.
30 By myself I can do nothing;
I judge only as I hear,
and my judgment is just,
for I seek not to please myself
but him who sent me.

John 7:16 Jesus answered,
"My teaching is not my own.
It comes from him who sent me.
17 If anyone chooses to do God’s will,
he will find out whether my teaching comes from God
or whether I speak on my own.
18 He who speaks on his own
does so to gain honour for himself,
but he who works
for the honour of the one who sent him
is a man of truth;
there is nothing false about him.

I find it so interesting this relationship that Jesus
as man on earth
(with Authority to call people from the grave)
had with His Father
- Listen and obey
- Hear and deliver
- Honour for the other
- Role of Servant and not master
- With authority, yet reliant on Father to use it rightly

Jesus,
As the Father sent You
so You send me...
Listening
With Authority... yet reliant on You
and so I choose to work for
Your Honour...
that there might be nothing false found in me.

Yeah.
