This morning I had an interesting experience reading a parable...
I realized that the parable wasn't just told to Pharisees
to get them to understand the Kingdom
but it is for a Kingdom understanding for me too.

Matthew 21:33-44 tells the parable of the Tenants.
A man made a vineyard and leased it out.
...He made a 'farm' and got men to run it....
At the time of harvest he expected to be paid
from the fruit harvested.
That would be normal.
Well, in this story that went terribly wrong.
- the tenants did not honour the lease commitment.
- people got hurt... including the owner's son...
....and the owner decided to get rid of them
and get tenants who would do the 'normal' thing of
paying for the use of the farm..

This is a Kingdom Story.
and I am actually a tenant.

and I wonder how often I think of my life that way...
My paycheque
My savings account
My house..... and on...

What if I were to understand that as His son
I am actually a partner in His resources?
He fronts the capital
all of it is actually His...
I manage it for Him
and that there needs to be a return for the Kingdom.
and
Tithing is just one 'test' to check and see if
My heart and brain and wallet actually agree with that....

Hmm.... food for thought...

Lord,
You set me up for amazing things,
You train me
You establish favour and blessing in my life
You give me opportunity to step up and in to
phenomenal opportunities
and I need to remember that it comes from You
and I need to hold these things that way.
As a son,
but also as a 'tenant'.... manager
of Your Capital.

Thank You for allowing me to do that.
To have a part in the Kingdom that way.
and to see fruit
that returns to You
and sustains me.

Amazing 'business plan'....
Thank You for trusting me in that.
