This morning finished reading John. What an epic book.
So full of Jesus thoughts and words on the Kingdom
I see dimly...

I just re read the conversation Jesus had with Pilate....

Every second, every word, every thought was precious
as the end of Life as He knew it loomed....
Crucifixion...

and yet He spoke to Pilate....
more than just answering his questions.
but
Revelation...

John 18:33 Pilate then went back inside the palace,
summoned Jesus and asked him,
"Are you the king of the Jews?"
34 "Is that your own idea," Jesus asked,
"or did others talk to you about me?"
35 "Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied.
"It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me.
What is it you have done?"
36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world.
If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews.
But now my kingdom is from another place."
37 "You are a king, then!" said Pilate.
Jesus answered,
"You are right in saying I am a king.
In fact, for this reason I was born,
and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth.
Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
38 "What is truth?" Pilate asked.

I wonder.
Pilate.
How many times did this conversation roll around his head
in the days and weeks to follow?
What did he think when the sky turned black and the earthquake happened?
What did he think when he heard his wife's dream?
What did he think when he heard rumours of the resurrection....?

This man who was King
of another realm
This man who defined truth
as not a political tool to be molded and shaped
into power and control
but as a
Person.

Lord Jesus
Thank You for allowing John
to hear these words of Yours
and recording them for me
to
ponder
to wonder
to receive
more of You
and Your Kingdom

Today.
Yeah.
