Hear and Laugh.

This morning woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep....
Aaaa too many Chocolate Costco cookies.... :/
Grrr...

So I had a workout and read scripture.

Genesis
I found it very interesting what and how
God named the forefathers of 2 nations.
Ishmael - 'God hears'
Isaac - 'He laughs'

Ishmael - Hagar is abused and runs away
and in that place of desperation God Heard.
and saved her (and him) Ishmael....
the one who was NOT the promised heir.
Ishmael the one that was born out of human logic and effort.
Ishmael - connected to Egypt (through Hagar) a place of slavery for God's people....
and even so....
God heard.
And Cared
and gave promises to.... Gen 16

Isaac - ridiculous, impossible, astounding, beyond belief
God's fulfillment of a promise of a child to 2 old people.
Abraham laughed, Sarah laughed..... and I suspect even God laughed!
What fun, to give a child to Seniors.... Gen 18:10-15, 21:1-7

Lord,
You love and hear those
who many find unlovable and
would rather they are unheard.

Lord,
Your promises fulfilled
fill many with ridiculous joy.
laughter at the impossible...
made possible.

Thank You
for being a God
Who Hears
and
Who Laughs....
