This morning I was wondering
what to do with the instruction in Hebrews 3:
12 See to it, brothers,
that none of you has a sinful,
that turns away from the living God.
13 But encourage one another daily,
as long as it is called Today,
so that none of you may be hardened
by sin’s deceitfulness.
14 We have come to share in Christ
if we hold firmly till the end
the confidence we had at first.
Encourage one another daily...
....to not sin?
..to live better?
to be careful of the traps that lead to sin?
What would that look like? :P
I'm not sure that is exactly what the writer meant.
I suspect that doing that may be Part of how to encourage one another....
.... but probably not every day....
Just before this statement
The writer starts off the thought by saying;
3:1 Therefore, holy brothers,
who share in the heavenly calling,
fix your thoughts on Jesus,
the apostle and high priest whom we confess.
How do I encourage my brothers and sisters in the faith?
- fix my thoughts on Jesus
- Walk as He did... every moment under the direction of the Spirit
- oh yes... Call sin sin, but so much more.....
- Encourage each other to lift our eyes Up
to the amazing Life He has for us.
I want to encourage my brothers and sisters
I want to be encouraged.
I fix my eyes on You
I will listen to You
on how to do that
