This morning I was interested in how God deals with
Comromise
and
disobedience...
....sin.

The promised land.....
Israel was to get rid of ALL the Canaanites in the land
so that they would not be an influence on their culture
- The Canaanites worshiped idols
that were connected to demons whose strategy was destruction.....

and when Israel didn't...
and let the 'Idol worshipers' live with them
they adopted those ways.....
:(

and God's divine power to drive them out was removed
to 'test them'
to see if they would turn back to Him....
see Judges 2:18-23

Makes me wonder if God still teaches his children that way....
Hmm...

Compromise
leads to disobedience
leads to sin
leads to lack of power
leads to return to God
or
destruction...

James in the New Covenant writes something very similar....

1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial,
because when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life
that God has promised to those who love him.
13 When tempted,
no-one should say, "God is tempting me."
For God cannot be tempted by evil,
nor does he tempt anyone;
14 but each one is tempted when,
by his own evil desire,
he is dragged away and enticed.
15 Then, after desire has conceived,
it gives birth to sin; and sin,
when it is full-grown,
gives birth to death.

Lord Jesus,
bring revelation to my eyes
for the compromises
and lack of perseverance
That I might not be swayed.
and miss the crown of life
today
