Good Day Black Creek Church family,

Or should I say, 'bonne journee'

Donna and I began the return trip from St John's, Newfoundland , about a week ago.  Travelling over 900km back across that island, a 7-hour ferry ride  and then about 18 hours drive to get to our friend Lisette and her husband Anatoli's here in Montreal.  Today is a 'take a ride on the Metro, go to Old Montreal adventure'.

I am continuing to learn lessons about how to live in healthy community...

- Van living is tight  (now in our 8th week) - keep talking (kindly), grumpiness is my problem (and physical exercise is a help), missing the exit and driving another 15 minutes is not the end of the world....

(funny story - the GPS took us the wrong way in Montreal yesterday  - 30 minutes on freeways and across bridges - Donna figured it out and got us turned around...  another 30 minutes back... Whew, So glad we can work as a team and even find humour in situations like that.}

- Pride and not wanting to ask for help are roadblocks to the adventure of meeting new people (or building deeper friendships with people I know).

- Assuming that almost everyone wants to be nice is so much better (and accurate) than the opposite.

I am sure Heidi is keeping you up to date on all the details of our church announcements...  I have been asking the Lord to walk closely with Linda after Dan's death.  His passing leaves a big hole in our church family.

The Lord's lesson to me today is from  James 3. Mind the tongue.  It is a relationship wrecker if not managed with a kingdom perspective.

 James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

18  Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19    Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
20  for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.

I am looking forward to the continuing adventure of meeting new people, learning about myself, and living in close proximity with Donna.

I also look forward to seeing you in December!

Blessings,

until we meet again!

Peter
