Good day Black Creek Church family,
Donna is cooking at camp this week.
Sooo.... in my quieter evenings....  I decided to listen to an audiobook on prayer.
George Müller asked God when he should start an orphanage.
He knew the heart of God for orphans, so it wasn't a matter of if, but when.

The 'catch'?   He didn't tell anyone.
From around 1836 to 1880, he never told anyone his requests or needs, but brought it to the Lord in prayer.
In the first 20 years, the Lord supplied the means and personnel to house over a 1000 children, run a bible school, and support numerous missionaries around the world.
Sometimes, before his morning prayers there was no money left to pay for food etc.
George would pray and there would be an answer by post, or delivery, or other means, often before noon.
Sometimes dollars, sometimes thousands of dollars.
And other times, George would pray.
For a LONG seasons.
Sometimes 3x a day for years  before an answer would come.
What does that do for me?
It challenges me.
Not necessarily to pray and not tell, (that was part of George's calling)
But Pray.
And believe,
And continue to pray.
One of things George discovered in this lifetime of prayer, was that his Heavenly Father loved to hear from him..... over and over.
Our Lord loves it when we depend on Him, lean in and trust Him.
I want to do that more and more.
 Thanks to all who made the Church Picnic a wonderful celebration day of life together.
You who brought food, helped setup, cleanup, games, organize, and lots of other things, including just sitting and listening to one another, made our community shine!
Someone who was a first-time visitor came and helped wash dishes, and left feeling like they were a part of something good and wholesome.
 Well done, Body of Jesus!
Pray:   Pray for your friends, your family, your neighbours.
       Pray for our church leadership team and what God has for us in this coming new season.
After Jesus teaches the 'Lord's Prayer', he gives some instructions:
 Luke 11:5  And he said to them,
Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him,
Friend, lend me three loaves,

6  for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him ;
7  and he will answer from within,

Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed.
I cannot get up and give you anything ?
8  I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend,
yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.
9  And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
10  For everyone who asks receives,
and the one who seeks finds,
and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
This will be my last regular email before Summer, as Donna and I will be serving at Camp Bob, and I will not be in the Church office regularly.
Blessings on your summer activities as you;
 Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.   1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
