Hi to my church family in Black Creek and beyond,

This week - often called 'Holy Week' is full of traditions and ways that people prepare to remember the event of Jesus' death and resurrection.

I find it interesting that there are numerous stories of supernatural happenings around these 'traditions'.

As I was thinking about this I was reminded that our Lord loves our worship and acknowledgment of Him at any time in our lives.  It should be no surprise that during this celebration of His greatest cost and greatest victory to ransom us, He would inhabit our praises.

As Jesus told the Pharisees when they tried to stop the praise on Palm Sunday.

Luke 19:38.... Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

39  And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him,  Teacher, rebuke your disciples.
40  He answered,  I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.

Tomorrow is Good Friday.  Come, Worship, Contemplate, and Commune together 10:30 am in our church building.

Easter Sunrise Service at 6:45 am at Oyster Bay Shoreline Park - across from the Driftwood Restaurant.

For a short time of worship, scripture focus and baptism service.  Our friends from the UM church will have a good fire going to keep us warm - rain or shine.

Easter Sunday Morning Breakfast at the church - 8:00 am.

Bring some fruit, pastries or special Easter fare to share and celebrate together.

We will be serving hot breakfast items for your enjoyment as well.

Sunday Morning Service at 10:30 in our church building.

Come and celebrate.

He is risen... He is risen indeed.

(No Sunday School)

During this week of remembrance and celebration.  Remember to pray for those in our circle of care who don't know Jesus... yet.

He is calling, and we can ask Him to touch them again.

Who knows?.... He might even use us.

Mark 15:37  And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last.

38  And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.
39  And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said,  Truly this man was the Son of God!

The hardened soldier of probably many crucifixions saw something in Jesus' death that profoundly impacted him to declare out loud his thoughts on who Jesus was.

The second Adam

The Son of God

John 20:14  Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.

15  Jesus said to her,  Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?  Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him,  Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.
16  Jesus said to her,  Mary.  She turned and said to him in Aramaic,  Rabboni!  (which means Teacher).

A woman of the world who left everything to follow Jesus...

heard her name

and it changed everything.

Come, reflect, worship

He is worthy,

and

He speaks our name.
