I find Scripture to have
balance or tension between what might be
seen as Opposite positions....

- lots of scripture about not being lazy or slothful...
But this morning I noticed a passage on
- Ps 127

2 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep. ESV

and in the Message;

2 It’s useless to rise early
and go to bed late,
and work your worried fingers to the bone.
Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest
to those he loves?

Not bad to work
Not even bad to work early and late
the words

concerned, uneasy, apprehensive, fearful, perturbed, troubled, bothered, disturbed, distressed, disquieted, fretful, agitated, nervous, edgy, antsy, unquiet, on edge, tense, overwrought, worked up, keyed up, jumpy, worried sick, with one's stomach in knots, with one's heart in one's mouth

The original word used is translated SORROW or TOIL

Certainly not the state of rest
of those whose God is working for them while they sleep.....

In my world that is sometimes plagued with

Can I trust God
to be working
while I sleep...

My mind says
.... I Can

but my anxious heart....?

Lord Jesus,
The essence of belief in You
is that You actually are
for my present situation.

and then Choosing to
Rest in that.
Watch You care for me.

Thank You
for this promise....

Thank You for actually doing
what I sometimes anxiously wait for

Thank You....

...Is it nap time yet?
