This week I was working outside of a small town down island
at a hanger for large helicopters.
I was helping a fellow install wires
for some modifications they were installing.

It ending up being a bit of a culture shock.
Working in an environment of swearing
is not too much of a surprise,
but working in an environment
where pictures of scantily clad women
are posted for everyone to 'enjoy'
and stories of how to treat such women was
more than a little
disrespectful,
distasteful....
dysfunctional.

I was encouraged to discipline my mind
and my heart
to not allow those thoughts and pictures to
roost and nest in my memories by this scripture:

Proverbs 25:26 Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain
is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.

Like working in a cow barn and falling down.
Get up, hose off, and shower when I get home.
Intentionally making God's 'smell' stronger than the smell of
....excrement.
- Keeping moment by moment connection with my Lord (praying)
- Guarding my eyes and ears
       .....erasing is harder than avoiding.
- Choosing to make healthy changes (moving pictures out of sight)
that others might not like
is OK.

O, Lord,
Your ways are good
and Your plans for me
include choosing Not to let stuff 'stick'
Thank You for reminding me
to keep my spring
clear
my fountain
refreshing.

Yeah.
