This morning I was reading in Revelation
and something I sometimes take for granted
was repeated...
'The prayers of the saints

In Revelations, John writes 'pictures' from Heaven's point of view...

Rev 5:8 And when he had taken it,
the four living creatures
and the twenty-four elders
fell down before the Lamb.
Each one had a harp
and they were holding golden bowls full of incense,
which are the prayers of the saints.

Rev 8:3 Another angel,
who had a golden censer,
came and stood at the altar.
He was given much incense to offer,
with the prayers of all the saints,
on the golden altar before the throne.

Rev 8:4 The smoke of the incense,
together with the prayers of the saints,
went up before God from the angel’s hand.

I find it interesting that my prayers
are mixed with incense
making a sweet smelling
holy offering
to God...

When I prayed for a friend this morning
and thanked God for answering an ongoing prayer,
somehow I realized just a bit more
that This is
precious to my Lord.
He saves my words and thoughts
and requests in bowls
He savours their smell
He listens to them
without distraction...

Lord,
You love to hear from me
and Your word reminded me of that
this morning.

Blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your Kingdom
on earth
as it is in Heaven.
Yes.
Amen.
