The last few days I have been reading about
Pharaoh and Moses 'sparing' with plagues
to keep
or release the people of Israel....

Pharaoh's hard heart comes up numerous times
See Exodus 4:21-23, 7:1-5, 13-14, 22, 8:15, 19

Paul in Romans 9:16-18 speaks about this specific event.
He says that God made Pharaoh's heart hard
so that He - God would be glorified
- by the nation of Israel
- later... by us....

And in Paul's explanation
he states the question that everyone wants to say....
'how is that fair? is God not fair.....?'

Hmm....
That's where my mind went.... :(

And I was reminded that by doing this
I make a judgment on God
through a 'pinhole perspective' on one event.....

Pharaoh actually was a tyrant
he was evil
he was a man who for years had
killed and subjugated a nation.....
Like his father before him.
Hitler and him would have been best friends.

Pharaoh was not a 'nice guy' turned 'bad' by God....
but a Bad guy that stayed the course
and God used it for a rescue..
.... not just to get Israel out of Egypt
but to bring a people to Himself (Glory)
A chosen nation who had forgotten their creator
And God would demonstrate to the entire world
Through them, that;
'God so loved the world
that he gave his only begotten son....' John 3:16

Lord,
I forget
and loose sight so easily
who You are.
The Creator
The Rescuer
The Lover

AND
The One who uses
the evil in this world
even the hardened things...
for Your Glory...

and when I think that is
harsh
or unfair....
I need to remember who You ARE.
and there is a back story....

Always.

Thank You for teaching me this morning.
