This morning I was playing around with thoughts
that come from Paul's Statement;
"men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed
of the truth, and who think that
Godliness is a means to financial gain."
ref 1 Tim 6:5

1st thought....
Godly principles often DO result in financial gain...

2nd thought
Does God want me to be poor / 'suffer for Him'?

Hmm

The verse that follows helps me out
"Godliness with contentment
is great gain" 1 Tim 6:6

and Paul closes this letter with
God's true heart...

1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present world
not to be arrogant
nor to put their hope in wealth,
which is so uncertain,
but to put their hope in God,
who richly provides us with everything
for our enjoyment.
18 Command them to do good,
to be rich in good deeds,
and to be generous and willing to share.
19 In this way
they will lay up treasure for themselves
as a firm foundation for the coming age,
so that they may take hold of the life
that is truly life.

Soooo...
I am one of God's children
and He loves to provide for me
He actually doesn't want me to be
satisfied with the treasure of this earth
He wants MORE for me

financial gain can be a Distraction
from True riches
and the proper way of carrying that
is to be
Generous
and
Trust in God
for my needs
AND
My Enjoyment!

Oh Lord,
Thank You
for the reminder
that Financial Gain comes with
Risk
That I would trust IT
rather than
You.....

I choose You
again...
and recognize
that You
LOVE to see me
Enjoy life

Now
and
For Eternity

Thank You Lord,

PJ
