Good day Saints of Black Creek and beyond,

(Saints = those who know and love Jesus).

Today is February 29th - an 'extra day' - once every 4 years....

While probably not a whole day..... I think there will be a few extra hours for me.

And yet...

I find it O-so-easy to fritter away gifts of time..

My phone is filled with time-eating DISTRACTIONS.

Facebook ate  a whole hour last week when I was tired and should have been sleeping!

One hour +.... gone.

A Godly man.  A man after God's own heart....

David....

had extra time.... and didn't use it well....

2 Samuel 11:1  In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle,

David sent Joab.......

But David remained at Jerusalem.

2  It happened, late one afternoon, when David arose from his couch

and was walking on the roof of the king's house,

that he saw from the roof a woman bathing;

and the woman was very beautiful.
3  And David sent and inquired about the woman.

And one said,  Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

4  So David sent messengers and took her,

and she came to him, and he lay with her.

(Now she had been purifying herself from her uncleanness.)

Then she returned to her house. ESV

See the rest of 2 Samual 11

Plan to attend our Annual General Meeting on March 10th at 7:00 pm in the church activity hall.

We shall endeavor to end the meeting by 9:00 pm.

Pray for Lorne Lamont after his heart surgery last week.

Lift up Katie Enns during this difficult time after Bill's passing

Pray for those in your circle of care who need a touch from the Lord.

For those wishing to be baptized in the ocean at the Easter Sunrise Service

If you haven't done so, Please connect with Pastor Barry or myself soon.

I wonder what were the pieces that led up to David's distraction... on his rooftop

and after that.....

I find it difficult.

A push.

It takes energy....

to not veg,

or scroll

or just get distracted in my world of 'squirrel' distractions.....

Ephesians 5:15  Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

16  making the best use of the time, (KJV says: Redeeming the time)

because the days are evil.
17  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18  And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19  addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart,
20  giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,  ESV

It helps me to:

Realize how easily I AM distracted.

Choose to Redeem the time.

Ask Holy Spirit, 'What do I need to be up to in this moment?'

Including being OK with the next 30 minutes just being Quiet.

Enjoy the day,

Enjoy the Extras

Choose to be intentional,

and Give Thanks.

Blessings on your week,

Peter Jackson
