Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
This morning, I am reminded of the 50 days of waiting........
Jesus told his disciples to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
He was to come on Pentecost, 50 days after Passover.
- But they didn't know that.
They just knew......  wait.
During the wait;
- Peter was reinstated by Jesus
- They 'camped' in the upper room.
- and they waited.....
We don't know much more except that they hung out together.
Jesus was risen.  Everything was new and changed...
.....yet the question on everyone's mind must have been,
"Now what?"
and
"How long?" (until we know 'now what')
Some time ago, I spent an afternoon with someone who was 'let go' from a position of ministry.
No sin or lapse in judgment - they just didn't measure up to the leadership team's expectations.
He had faithfully served for years...
and then was let go....
sort of 'nice' words for fired
Now what?
      &
How long?
I was curious how a faithful man of God would 'do' to this time of 'in between'.
On our afternoon walk, he told me that he was holding on to some wisdom a mentor had challenged him with.
"Cherish the 'in between' - it is the place where valuable change happens."
I was so challenged.
- No bitterness
- No anger at the injustice
- Calm expectation of God's goodness in what was a time of yawning emptiness....
- Humility and trust all the way to the foundation stones of his life.
This week:
9:30 am Sunday School resumes for Adults and Children
Camp Bob Sunday:  Come and hear what God has done, and, is preparing to do again at camp this summer.
Camp Bob Lunch - enjoy a time of fellowship and an opportunity to support campers this summer.
Acts 1:3  To them he presented himself alive after his suffering by many proofs,
appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
4  And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem,
but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said,  you heard from me;
5  for John baptized with water,
but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
I happened to see my friend at the dentist's office a few months ago.   It had been about 10 years since he was 'let go'.
I asked him, "How are you doing?"
He is thriving now in a space that fits him so well.
He was full of Joy, fulfillment, and wonder as he reflected on God's journey of crafting this new path for him...
out of the wilderness of the 'in between'.
 Wait,
in Expectation
                       and
                               Humility,
He is good
                 all the time.
