I was reading Jeremiah this morning
He speakes of the promised new covenant;
- Not like the old one that the people broke
- It will be God's law on hearts and minds instead of on stones
- People will not need instruction to know God
- Forgiveness for sin will be directly from God
Jeremiah 31:31-34

The writer to the Hebrews quotes this - 8:7-12

And this is the New Covenant that I live in
Yes....
and
....not quite yet?
- that little phrase that 'no one will need instruction to Know God'

How does that work?

Some of Jesus' last words to the disciples come to mind....
'Teach them to obey My commandments...'
ref Matthew 28:20

Is
and
Not quite Yet....?

God's promises
God's plans
Timeless and fulfilled in eternity
yet
Not quite done in time..
fulfilled somewhere in the future
when all things come under Christ....

I am eternal
Yet
I am still mortal

I need to live without fear of death
yet
I need to be wise and respect I am still walk in
aging,
fragile,
vulnerable
flesh and blood... :P

O Lord,
Your great promises
Full and True
and yet I see 'gaps' where
Things are not as they will be...

Teach me how to walk
in this 'not quite Yet' time
To rest in
and trust in Your promises
and still live in
the place where sin and death
are not 'wrapped up'....
Yet.

O Yeah.
