Just Words?....

This morning I was again struck by the
'Words of God'

Moses received words directly from the Father  
Engraved on Stones by the finger God....   
The Finger of God  
The Words of God  
The Presence of the Person of God   

In these words / ideas / principles reside  
a revelation of who this Almighty Creator God is.... 
The words themselves had no power..... 
as an incantation.....
but the Person
in whom the words reside
....all power...

Moses reminded the nation of Israel
just before they launched into the land of promise
to keep these words
to follow these words
to have the 'imprint' of these commands on their hearts
- so they memorized them
- so they made little boxes to write on paper to hold them on their foreheads
- to this day there are little boxes fastened to their door frames
on every home in Israel including hotel rooms....

Not bad things....
Actually good things...

But....
the point was
the Words
are revelation of a
Person

Deuteronomy 8:3 He humbled you,
causing you to hunger
and then feeding you with manna,
which neither you nor your fathers had known,
to teach you that man does not live on bread alone
but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

LORD
CREATOR
LIFE

Lord Jesus
You came to give me LIFE
and Your Words lead me
back to You
Your Position
Your Power
Your Presence
Your Person

You.

More than Bread
More than a piece of paper
on the door post.

You.

Yes.
