Good Day Black Creek Church Family,
Today it is Wednesday, Day 25 of the adventure.
Rest, Restore, Renew, Reflect, Reveil?
Donna and I have had fun travelling and enjoying a 'blank sheet' with each new day.
Sometimes that includes managing frustrations.... like driving and trying to find parking in Montreal in time to catch a historic tour.... never did find parking... didn't get to the tour....
Most days have been such a blessing and fun discovering new sights....
but some days I have had the surprise of a grumpy attitude..... and Donna has encouraged me to choose to be thankful, expectant of good things and to SMILE
We are rediscovering that walking in God's path is not always easy.
At one point, we received some rejection....
What do I do with that?.... I felt like returning the feeling and running....
God challenged me to choose the opposite, which in this case was blessing the person and the situation.
What followed was incredible: fruit of repentance, restoration and our relationship going to a new truth depth that had not been there before.
Thank you, Jesus, for challenging me to step into your way of doing life.
The last few days have been emotionally interesting.
- The War Museum in Ottawa was such an impactful experience and it surprised me with the deep grief that I felt... seeing mankind's brokenness.....
- Just being in Quebec has been interesting as everything seems 'familiar' until I realize I can't read the signs or talk to people. My French is about 3 words... - that is sometimes discombobulating...
Pray with us as we reach the 'other coast' in the next few days and find a member of my family who has had significant challenges in their life. We desire to connect well and be an encouragement.
I leave you with this Psalm
86:1 A PRAYER OF DAVID.
Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my life, for I am godly;
save your servant, who trusts in you
you are my God.
3 Be gracious to me, O Lord,
for to you do I cry all the day.
4 Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
With much love,
Feeling your love....
