Good day, Black Creek Church family, 

 

Donna and I are in Manitoba on our way back home.  

AND

It looks like Donna's mom is feeling up to coming with us for the rest of the trip back to Black Creek! 

 

This week Donna and I processed a day that went different....

'What do you mean, Different?'....

 

Expectations:

As we talked and listened to each other, it became apparent that we both had expectations on how that day would unfold. 

And as unexpected things happened, we 'adjusted'....   but, because we had not communicated our expectations out loud... our decisions didn't take each other's hopes and plans into consideration.

Wow.  

 

It wasn't a train wreck.... 

but it kinda did put us in the ditch (emotionally) for a bit. 

 

So, 

how are we staying out of the 'ditch'?

We figured it out!

something new?...

No....

What a concept 

Nothing new...   Just being way more intentional.

and now the road is less 'bumpy'. 

 

There are so many scriptures about serving and caring for one another.  Here are a couple of my favourites.

 Philippians 2:3  Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

4  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

 

 Romans 12:10  Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.

 

When I started sabbatical, my expectations were

Relaxation

          Refreshment

                      Renewal

.

I just didn't expect that it would take so much

Repentance

to experience the first 3! 

 

Looking forward to God's work over the next month.
