Good day, Black Creek Church Family, 
I have been enjoying the fresh air and sunshine this week. 
I am planning to go to Victoria on Saturday to visit an 'old' friend.
Tony Janzen was our youth pastor at Black Creek Community Church for a number of years and now he is turning 50.  
Any ideas for a birthday present?? 
I so enjoyed hearing Kinshasa and Ben speak about making a 'marker' and celebration for the Grads this last Sunday.  
Their focus was to celebrate CHARACTER instead of our normal world's celebration of PERFORMANCE.
In our world of few 'milestones' and fewer celebrations of Values that align with our Creator's model of Life and Freedom, 
I think preparing for opportunities to do that more is 'Just what the Dr ordered'  (as my dad used to say....)
Sooo.... I look forward to my time with Tony.
We have talked somewhat over the years, but not stayed close.  
I will be curious what the Lord will give me.... to give to him!
Prophecy is one of the Gifts of the Spirit.
Sometimes it is seen as 'reading someone's. mail'....  (and sometimes that happens)...  
But the word actually means, "To speak God's words"
I wonder how God might want to use me to speak His words to Tony, 
or maybe someone else He brings my way on Saturday.  
That makes me curious.    And kind of excited too!

Following the 'Love' Chapter Paul gives instructions about how God wants to use Holy Spirit's Gifts to build up His people.   
In the following verses I have focused on the teaching he gives on prophecy.

1 Corinthians 14:1    Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

3b the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.
4b .....the one who prophesies builds up the church.
5a  Now I want you all ........ to prophesy. .....so that the church (the people of God) may be built up.
