Dear Black Creek Church family,
This week started FULL.
Early start to the day at the  Airport on Monday.
Jumped in the car to head home after a long day.
Funny thing.
The little battery light thingy by the speedometer was lit up bright RED
Hmmm... I don't remember seeing that this morning....
Headed home thinking how I would have to figure this out in the morning...
Except ..... in the morning I would be driving in the dark with the heater and windshield wipers on....
Hmm...
Pull over, Peter.  Think this through.
... How late is Lordco open?   Another hour?  Hmmm.
And then the  RED  light went out....
Oh Good.  It wasn't really a problem.....  Right?
....do I really need to deal with this now, Lord?
Yes.
Lordco, do you have an alternator for an old Yaris?
You do?  I will be right over.....  Oh do you have a new belt too?
Picked it up.
Light came back on.
Got home fine and a bit late.  Changed the alternator.
Light went out.
Donna and I have a little book.
At the end of the day we each name 3 thanks and write them down.
Was I thankful the alternator quit?
No
Was I thankful it didn't quit on our trip to Princeton Hwy 3 last month?
Or Vancouver last week?
Was I thankful for a store being open one hour after my work,
that had the part,
and the part actually fixed the problem?
OH YEAH!
So thankful.  (happy dance thankful)
a matter of perspective
posture towards what happens that is framed in the view that:
I am a child of my loving Father.
He gave a job so that I had money to buy the part.
He nudged me to pull over and process it.
He blessed me with so many other details.
And Donna wasn't even waiting for me to get home late.
She was out with friends that day and got home late, too!

I am blessed
In the middle of stuff happening.
Philippians 4:11  Not that I am speaking of being in need,
for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

12  I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound.

In any and every circumstance,
I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
13  I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Stuff happens.
Jesus gives grace, joy and expectation of good
in the middle of it all.
I want that
- For you too,
Peter Jackson
