Good day, Black Creek Church family,
This week I found out a friend Donna and I have known for probably 30 of their 38 years has cancer.
The 'C' word.
A word that carries the threat of an early end of life, dreams, and parenting.
A word that stops the rest of life to come to a battle where so much is put on hold until the fight is engaged, persevered, and ended....
without guarantees.
And while they engage and fight this battle...
How might I be part of their team?
We cannot be neighbours as they live far away.
We can't bring meals or mow their lawn.
We can Pray
We can send notes and let them know we care.
And...
maybe you have done some creative things to care for people long distance...
I would love to hear about them...
Church Picnic coming up.... Sunday, June 21 after the service. Bring a salad or dessert. Hotdogs, farmer sausage, fries and beverages will be supplied.
Games and fun for everyone after lunch. Hang out, enjoy Father's Day with each other.

As I think and pray for my friend, an old hymn comes to my mind;
Psalm 23 is a place I go, to pray for my friend...
1 A PSALM OF DAVID.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Pray for one another,
reach out and care
Build one another up in the Lord.
