Good day, Black Creek Church family!
By the time you read this it will be next year.
Looking back, it has been full year....
Looking forward... Hmm.... I wonder.
This morning I was reading Psalm 57.
David is hiding in a cave. Saul is outside.
It doesn't look good. Saul's intention isn't just to say bad things to David.
He is there to end this challenge to his kinghood... permanently.
But David was promised to be King from God through Samual years before.
All those years, David had been trusting that somehow God would get him through.
But on that day.
It didn't look good.
David cries out (very quietly...so Saul wouldn't hear him) to God
"God, fulfill your purposes in me."
Wow, what a loaded statement.
God's purposes for David - promised from way back.
And David is not quite sure how they can come to pass.....
But he pushes in and clings to the hope that God's promises to him
are real and are in this case.... immediate.
Remember: This week: Ladies Prayer resumes.
I pray into some of those in my circle....
that they would hunger and thirst to know and walk in God's purposes for their lives... In this coming year!
Psalm 57:1 TO THE CHOIRMASTER: ACCORDING TO DO NOT DESTROY.
A MIKTAM OF DAVID, WHEN HE FLED FROM SAUL, IN THE CAVE.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me;
he will put to shame him who tramples on me. [Selah]
God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
May you know His purposes for you in this new year.
That there would come a wind of new and fresh possibilities.
Blessings,
Peter Jackson
