Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
This week has been 'interesting'.
Have you ever noticed that when someone says 'interesting'. ... it is usually a story full of 'surprises'... Some of which are not pleasant?
This week, I was challenged (internally) to 'up my game'.
- Intentionally have difficult conversations.
- Step into a challenging role... which included establishing healthy boundaries.
- Accept that the role might come with pushback (I was removed from the assignment, and reinstated 3 hours later)
And a few surprises that were Kingdom of God moments....
- Being asked where to buy a Bible.
- Being asked when church started this Sunday.
Sooo.... How did that play out on my Heart and Brain 'stress-o-meter'?
What carried me through...? 'successfully'?
Resilience was the characteristic I needed.
And I find that the 'rope of resilience' is established from several cords woven together:
- Time in the Word - with Jesus every morning.
30 minutes of reading, pondering, praying and setting up my heart and mind for the day.
- Refuge: A place where there is quiet, rest, joy and acceptance.
Our home is that place. Sitting in front of the fire, reading funny books, playing games, and enjoying relaxing meals with good food.... Margins...
- Healthy body: Enough sleep, good food, exercise
- Team: People on the job and in my life who pray for me, support me, and ask how I am doing..... which includes you, my church community

Pray for those in your circle of care to know that they are cared for and valued.
I have a smile on my face and joy in my heart.
God is doing amazing things
and He keeps inviting me to be a part of His amazing work.
1 Peter 3:13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;
16 yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
Blessings on you this Christmas season
May your heart be filled with the goodness of Him
as you engage the world you live in,
Peter Jackson
