Hello Black Creek Church Family,
This week has been full.
As in full - satisfying, enjoyable, rich
While Donna headed for camp to cook for their first school group of the spring, (and joined me later that weekend),
I launched for Kelowna, where the BC Mennonite Pastors' Conference and AGM were held on Friday and Saturday.
It is a great time to connect with and meet other pastors from all across BC.
This year I sat beside a fellow named Peter.  Which was very handy for me not to forget his name!
In the course of getting to know him, he shared an 'experiment' that God challenged him to do.
Work at a 'secular' job and thrive in his faith.
God's instructions for him were: Be the priest in that space and 'build me an altar'.
Very interesting.
I get being intentional and bringing the authority of being a priest of God into my workspace.
But what is this 'altar' building?
He shared with me that an altar established the 'stones' of the values of heaven in his practices at work.
Stones of honour, honesty, integrity, joy, steadfastness, kindness....   kind of like a list in Galatians...
5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  23  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

This Sunday Morning  - Barry presents "Who we are - Our Story, and Who we are - Our DNA
Saturday, May 9th, Camp Bob Work Day, Lunch provided.
Pray for our Leaders.  World, Country, Province and local.  We need leaders with Godly wisdom and kindness.
My time with Peter encouraged me to have a priestly mindset in my work spaces - Church, Home, Hangar.
And that living the 'normal' Christian life is actually building something lasting that points to God.
An Altar.
1 Peter 2:4    As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
5  you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house,
to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6  For it stands in Scripture:
Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.
7  So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,
8  and      A stone of stumbling,
and a rock of offense.
They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
9  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for his own possession,
that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Intentionality, Authority of Heaven, Building a witness with the 'stones' of the Spirit.
Enjoy the week by being His child... wherever you are.
