Good day, Black Creek Church Family,
Holy Week.....
 Palm Sunday
         The Last Supper
                   The Garden
                           The Trial
                  The Crucifixion
       The Tomb
and then.....
He is Risen!
I know the events.
I have heard the story.
But every year I ask for it to be 'real' again.
Not just a week of remembrance....
But something fresh that 'connects' me to these events of so long ago..
Peter's story.
Sometimes I feel like our names being the same isn't just a name thing...
Talked a lot.
Always had to be 'at the front'.
Made promises...
and then Blew it.
Disappointed Jesus?
and himself....
Big time.
Peter lived in that week.
In those events.
When Jesus was executed.
How did that feel...?
horrible. No comeback.
Everything - gone
including self-worth.
No working it through,
making it right,
walking with The One who loved him
with all his quirks....
I so connect with the emotions evoked around Peter in Barry's Easter Musical.
What can be said?
What can fix the world in that moment?
Shame, sadness...   Loss
but....
the end of the Story is amazing.
Jesus is ALIVE!
Hope is restored!
AND
John tells us how Jesus pulls Peter back.
into relationship,
fellowship
AND
trust.

John 23:15    When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,
Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?
He (Peter) said to him,  Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He said to him,  Feed my lambs.
16  He said to him a second time,  Simon, son of John, do you love me?
He (Peter) said to him,  Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.
He said to him,  Tend my sheep.
17  He said to him the third time,  Simon, son of John, do you love me?
Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time,  Do you love me?  and he said to Him,
Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.
Jesus said to him,  Feed my sheep.
Jesus said 2 more things to Peter,
Don't get distracted by others...
                                                     &
                                                          Follow Me.
Keep Close Peter.
                         Even when you mess up.
Keep close.
And Peter did....
Mess up
and kept close.

I pray that your holy week has had a moment or two
When the 'dots connect.'
The week of events that changed
Everything.
Blessings as you Follow Him,
Peter
