Good day, worshipers of Jesus, our Lord in Black Creek and beyond,

This week I had an interesting 'conjunction'

In my 2 year reading plan and also in my 'listening to Scripture' Bible time I landed in the Song of Solomon!

Hmm... It makes me ponder what that might be about.....

Although Song of Solomon is a poetic dialogue about Solomon the King and a Shulamite woman and their romantic love for one another, it is also widely thought

that it is included in scripture as a way of describing the love between our creator God and us.

So... I tried to think of some of the interaction/conversation like it could be a love conversation between me and my Lord (hopefully not in a weird way).

What would it be like if my thoughts and preoccupation towards Christ were predominant and filled with joy and expectation?

What would change if I knew Jesus was intentionally and intensely interested in being with me all the time?

(I do know that... but do I KNOW that?)

Song of Solomon 5:16b  he (Jesus) is altogether lovely.

This (Jesus) is my beloved, and this (Jesus) is my friend - (Jesus added by me)

What draws me to Him?

- Is it what He can do for me?

- Is it what I need from Him?

- Or is it that He is actually life itself and 'beautiful beyond description' (whatever that means)

Glenn Packiam sings about Him here.

Jesus.

I sing about Him

I sing to Him.

How do I love Him?

What is it that draws me to Him?

Jesus attracted those whose lives were 'broken'

He speaks of His commitment to me in Paul's words

Romans 8:38  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers,

nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,

39  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,

will be able to separate us from the love of God

in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Seeking Jesus,

Finding Love.

Blessings on your week,

Peter Jackson
