Blessings on the week to you my Black Creek Church family,

In my first year of Bible School I did a solo long weekend in the bush (and rain)

My goal and expectation.....

God was going to talk to Me.

Like audibly....

At the end of 3 days I was wet,

my 3 bibles were damp (and a bit wrinkled)

and I felt pretty disappointed.

I didn't stop believing in God

I didn't stop pursuing knowing Him.

But my expectations of how He was going to 'show up' changed.

It started my journey of trusting Him

even if/when He didn't do what I expected or wanted.

That was a few years ago.  (1985)

So, what's changed in 39 years?

My trust and joy in expectation have grown.

I still haven't heard God audibly....

but He speaks

He acts

and when He doesn't

I just get a 'Holy curiosity'....

1 Peter 1:6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while,

if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

7  so that the tested genuineness of your faith

more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire

may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8  Though you have not seen him, you love him.

Though you do not now see him,

you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
9  obtaining the outcome of your faith,

the salvation of your souls.

This Saturday there is a workday at Camp Bob.

Come early or late.

With your kids or without.

Lunch is served.

This Sunday is a Camb Bob Service.

Come ready for fun songs

and hear about opportunities to sow into our community through this children's ministry.

After the service is a Hot Dog fundraiser.

Don't stop praying, He is still listening!

Pray for those in difficult and challenging seasons.

You might even get some instructions on helping out in those situations.

Rather than feel frustrated and 'left out' because God didn't talk to me audibly

He taught me to listen for His still small voice

in many circumstances.

AND He continues to fill me up with Joy

at knowing I bring Him joy to partner with Him

in walking out His life in this world.

 Psalm 16:11  You make known to me the path of life;

 in your presence there is fullness of joy;

at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Blessings as you walk with Him this week,

May you know His joy.
