Action Faith

As I have been Thinking about Discipleship these last few weeks...  
and I have been learning is that it is Christ's work to  
Call and Empower me      
But 
It is my 'work' to enter into that Call and Empowerment 
very specifically...
to do the 'Work' of dieing to self 
and living into the work of Jesus.      

Just like Baptism...   
Just like the crucifiction and resurection...

This morning James 'called it'!

...If I pray for a person
but don't help them....
James says, 'that is useless'

he goes on to say
talk is cheap
that actions actually 'complete' the words I declare!
ref James 2:14-26

Faith in Jesus saves me. - Yes
The work of God is to believe in Him. - Yes
....If I actually believe these things my actions will reflect it. - Yes.

Lord,
I feel like there is a strange paradox in the Christian Culture I live in.
Either;
Perform to please You.(legalism).
Or
All I need is faith and Actions don't matter... (licence)

and somehow I know there needs to be understanding in my life
of WHY I need to ACT
- not to appease You or Your Law (Jesus did that)

but because You CALL me to Walk In You.
and that will mean death to my flesh nature
and life to Your Spirit in me.
- Obedience
- Life
- Change
Fruit.
Heavenly Fruit
here on earth.

Yes.

Thank You
for instructing my mind
Today....
...reminding me of my
Baptism....
