Wow, lots of distractions this morning....
- a Webinar training session
- two people told me dreams
- Grandma called
- other phone calls
- make some breakfast
- research stuff before I forget about it... again....
and then the house project list started 'blinking'.....

Aaaaa.....

I felt like Hammy the Squirrel in "Over the Hedge"....

But I wanted to spend some time with God
and His word this morning....

I realized I had to choose to do that....
I needed to
STOP

and MAKE it happen.
I had to DO it.

the distractions so easily push out the importance of my morning routine with God
they make it hard to find the focus to get back to HIM
in the middle of the muddle.

In organizational post a few months ago I read about this
problem for most people....
and
the instruction...
'Do the creative things
in the quiet of the morning
before the rest of the day starts....'

- listening to God and His word
is that part of my brain....

the creative part.
the being present to this moment part
the 'what is Your Spirit saying to my spirit?' part.

Recently it has helped me to use a Bible program that has
audio as well as text. (YouVersion by LifeChurch)
But there is a temptation to do something more...
'multi-task'
something that takes my brain away
and the audio just becomes Bla bla bla....

Reading and audio help me get back to the moment.

And in that....
So amazing....
as I spent time with my Lord
He just  'happened' to speak on this.... :)

Hebrews 12:11
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time,
but painful.
Later on, however,
it produces a harvest of
righteousness and peace
for those who have been trained by it."

Father,
thank You for helping me
establish routines and disciplines
that bear fruit in my life.

Thank You Jesus for continuing to speak
even when din and distractions vie for my attention.

Thank You Holy Spirit for
Calling me to spend quiet time with You
where You minister to my soul.

Yes.
Fruit of
righteousness
and
peace.

Making my presence
Available to Yours.

Yeah.
